Segway_The Human Transporter   The Segway Human Transporter is one of several low-speed transportation devices (e.g., bikes, scooters, wheelchairs) that, undercertain circumstances, travel on sidewalks, roadways, and other shared-use paths. The objective of this research was to examinethe primary operating characteristics of the Segway. In this thesis, we designed and constructed mechanically based system for atwo wheel balancing Segway robot. In this paper we present a Segway based on gyro sensor, accelerometer along with a   microcontroller and use of mechanical and electrical hardware’s. The dynamics of the vehicle is similar to the classical controlproblem of an inverted pendulum, which means that it is unstable and prone to tip over. This is prevented by electronics sensingthe pitch angle and its time derivative, controlling the motors to keep the vehicle balancing. This kind of vehicle is interestingsince it contains a lot of technology relevant to an eco-fri...

Is the Segway finally on the right track?                                                                                                           But what happened to the revolution in individual transport that the Segway promised?   Since the appearance of the "personal Segway " eight years ago in the United States, this question has been as unavoidable in any conversation about the future as that of knowing when Americans will give up their football t...

Segway News!!!!

The UK Metropolitan Police made a surprising announcement reminding them that Segways are banned on roads and sidewalks under a 19th century law. They have two wheels, carry their passengers at high speed but they would, in reality, be banned in the UK. UK Metropolitan Police have said on Twitter that riding on sidewalks or on the road with a segway or hoverboard is illegal, as reported by the Mashable site . In question, the “Highway Act” and its section 72 which date… from 1835. If these vehicles fall within the scope of the law dating from 180 years, unlike bicycles or skateboards, it is because they are motorized and must be registered, licensed and insured to operate on public roads. Own one of these or thinking about getting one? They're illegal to ride in public! The Segways are over. Chinese company Nanobot  has announced that it will halt production of the self-stabilizing vertical scooter species for good next month. Created 20 years ago, the machine was revolutionary, but did not live up to expectations. Launched in December 2001 by the American engineer and entrepreneur Dean Kamen, the Segway was to bring about a total transformation of individual mobility. At the time, the vehicle was hailed by the essential Steve Jobs as a technological development as important as the PC. High hopes John Doer , one of Silicon Valley's biggest venture capitalists, even predicted sales of $ 1 billion in record time. The company has generated a lot of expectations, without meeting them. First of all financially, the Segway ( Hoverboards ) sold very poorly, because it was too expensive and impractical. Investors were hoping for staggering sales - 40,000 per year - while in nearly 20 years, barely 140,000 units have been sol...
